Storage Units FAQs
Q: How does your billing cycle work?
A: Generally, we pro-rate to be due at the first of the following month.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept cash, personal checks, personal money orders, Visa, and MasterCard.
Q: Can I pay for my unit over the phone?
A: Yes, we accept payments over the phone. You will need to visit the facility to lease your unit and make the initial payment. After that, you may call to make payments by credit card or we can set up your account to automatically charge your credit card each month.
Q: Do I need insurance?
A: You may carry your own insurance (check your homeowner's or renter's policy to see if you are already covered). Insurance is the occupant's responsibility.
Q: How long will it take to complete my transaction on move in day?
A: The move in process should take about 15 minutes or so. However, this can vary depending on whether there are other customers ahead of you when you arrive. Mornings are usually the slowest period of the day while afternoons are busier.
Q: How long do I need to rent my space?
A: We have a 30-day minimum stay. After that it is month to month.
Q: What do I need to bring with me when I rent out a unit or a parking space?
A: You need a driver’s license or military ID in order to complete the rental agreement for a storage space. If you’re storing a vehicle, we also require a copy of the vehicle registration and proof of insurance at the time of signing.
Q: When can I access my unit?
A: Your individualized gate code allows access every day between 7 am and 9 pm.
Q: I lost the keys to my lock. How can I open it?
A: We have a bolt cutter that you can use on standard type locks. Unfortunately a bolt cutter will not cut through hardened steel or disc type locks. The cost of a locksmith runs about $40.
Q: How do I vacate my unit?
A: Please give us at least ten days’ notice of intent to vacate and sign the appropriate form. When you’re completely done with your move out, either visit the office during business hours or call us.
Q: Why won’t the gate open?
A: The primary reason is entering the gate code incorrectly. Also the gate will not allow access if there is a problem with the account, such as a late payment.

Valuable Storing / Packing Tips
Tip #1
Store items you will need most often at the front of the unit.
Tip #2
When you pack your storage unit, create a center aisle for access to all items.
Tip #3
Lay plastic tarp or pallets on the floor to create a barrier between boxes and the concrete. Pallets will allow air flow around and under items.
Tip #4
If storing tables and other furniture, remove legs and store tabletops and sofas in the end to save space.
Tip #5
Drain gasoline and oil from lawn mowers and other items with small engines.
Tip #6
Common sense and state law determines what may be stored. You alone access your storage space. Therefore, never store firearms, illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia, live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids and fuels, toxic materials, or other items that need a controlled environment.
Tip #7
Use trash cans to store shovels, hoes, and rakes.
Tip #8
Cover mattresses and couches and store them in the end to save space.
Tip #9
When you’re storing metal items, wipe all metal surfaces with a rag containing a few drops of machine oil. This will help retard rust.
Tip #10
Whenever possible, place dressers and tables top-to-top to save space.
Tip #11
Donate and recycle what you don’t need.
